Abstract
In order to know and to develop medicinal plants traditionally used by Koulango and Lobi people from Bounkani (Cote dIvoire) and establish a catalog of these plants in that area, an ethnobotanical study was conducted. It was developed through an ethnobotanical survey followed by a botanical inventory of the quoted medicinal plants. Information was gathered through house-to-house and walk-in-the-wood method guided by a semi-structured interview on the knowledge of medicinal plants. At the end of the survey, 101 plants species belonging 34 families among which, Leguminosae (21,21%) are the most represented. The results of that study showed that the leaves are the most used organ (54,41%). The most used pharmaceutical form is the decoction (64,09%). Oral with 42,147% is the principal administration way of the drugs. Among all the treated pathologies, malaria (21,415%) was the most quoted disease. Azadirachta indica (Vu = 1,289) is the only most used plant. In addition, these results can be regarded as a source of information for scientific research in the field of phytochemistry, and pharmacology.
