Abstract
We have studied by solid-state 13C-NMR and DSC, the reactions with epoxide molecules of amine and hydroxyl groups grafted on silica. The results show that, according to the used temperature range, different reactions could occur on the silica surface. After quantifying the grafted species, we have studied by inverse gas chromatography (IGC), the surface properties of grafted silica. The data show that it is possible to classify silica samples according to their grafting level.
