Abstract

The Z(s-cis) isomer of 3-benzoyl-1-methylindole phenylhydrazone derived from a 3-aroyl-1-methyl-indole, was isolated. The structure consists of two molecules with similar conformations in the asymmetric unit. The dihedral angle (≃55 o ) between the methyl indole substituent and the hydrazone moiety leads to a break in the delocalization
