Abstract
The consumption of harmful substances in society implies a great social and individual problem affecting the public health of people, making people psychologically affected, showing harmful and suicidal behaviors. The objective of this theoretical review is to identify the psychosocial factors of the consumption of illicit and addictive substances, drugs, as well as explain what the risk factors are and determine the psychosocial consequences of this problem. The methodology used was based on the PRISMA statement for a systematic review and scientific databases such as the Web of Science, Scopus and Scielo. According to the results, 25 investigations in English and Spanish were selected in which etiological factors of drugs were identified. Drug use represents a social problem, which for a long time has caused different types of havoc in the lives of children and adolescents, so through this essay we will learn more about the information regarding drugs. The study concludes that drug use has many negative effects on the health of any person, these negative consequences not only affect the consumer; but also to their closest environment.
