Abstract
Background and Aim: Liver abscess is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in tropical countries. Mortality rates have decreased over the last several decades due to advances in interventional radiology and progress in antibiotic therapy. We aimed to elucidate the clinical profile, microbiological characteristics, complications and management outcomes of liver abscess cases presenting to the Department of Gastroenterology, AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
