Abstract
Abstract : The possibility of linolenic acid serving as the precursor of ethylene in vivo was investigated. A comparison of the amount of linolenic acid present in plant tissues with the rates of ethylene production indicated that linolenic acid does not serve as the source of ethylene in plants.
