Abstract

The behavior of Holopogon seniculus Loew was studied in southeast Wyoming. This species foraged from tips of twigs of shrubs. Although H. seniculus fed on members of six orders of insects, Diptera and Homoptera were most commonly taken, comprising 92.7% of the total prey taken. Males court females, initially hovering a few centimeters above and to one side of them and finishing by darting in to copulate. Mating occurs in the end-to-end position.
