Abstract
Nepal is a Himalayan kingdom bounded by China in the north and India to the south, east and west. Administratively, the country is divided into 5 development regions, 14 zones and 75 districts. Jumla is one of the districts in the Karnali zone of the midwestern development region and located between 80°.50′E to 82°.32′E longitude and 28°.58′N to 29°.30′N latitude. Khalanga is the district headquarters. At the north-east side there are 2 hills of similar size and shape, popularly known as Jumlyaha, meaning twins. Consequently, the district came to be known as Jumla.
