Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the study of ethno-cultural stereotypes in media texts that have the attributes of extremist discourse. The characteristic features of stereotypes as generalized representations of native culture and representatives of “other” cultures are highlighted and described. The authors note that stereotypes are one of the adaptive mechanisms in the process of cultural genesis. The article is devoted to the current problem of transformation of the basic ethnocentric worldview into radical forms. As a research task, the authors identified an attempt to evaluate the interpretation of the content of media content through interviews with youth representatives. The main empirical research methods were content analysis and interviews. The axiological method made it possible to assess the change in the semantic content of the media text depending on the actual value attitudes of the respondents.
