Abstract

This article discusses the content of the concepts of “identity” and “ethnocultural identity”, the process of emergence and formation. An example of this is the Dungan people living in Uzbekistan today. Because the Dungan culture is unique for the society of Uzbekistan and differs sharply from the local culture. They is ethnically one with the Hui people of China and migrated to Central Asia, especially Uzbekistan, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In Uzbekistan, most of them live in Tashkent region, Tashkent city and many cities of the Fergana Valley.
