Abstract

This is a study of ethics as the central element in most of the critical issues in today's hospitality industry. The article discusses difficulties one encounters when applying ethical principles to business realities. Included are key requisites to a holistic understanding of hospitality business ethics. The author then presents a model which identifies ethical orientations as basic values which influence ehtical decision making. From the model, a questionnaire was developed and sent to hotel managers. Results of the survey, including an ethical orientation profile of the group of managers are discussed.
