Abstract

This study concerns ethics in consulting and professionalism. It deals with definition of profession: knowledge and skills, the concept of social interests and service, ethical guideline, community enforcement and sanction, and self control, as well as discipline. Moreover, the study shows management consulting is a profession: technical competence, the consumer's interest, objective and impartiality, confidentially, commissions, value of money, and wider the consumers ethics, as well as social concerns. This is followed by professional associations, and professional responsibility and legal liability of management consultants. More than that, consulting for performance improvement and productivity is identified. Furthermore, consulting in various aspects of management is studied. They concern consulting in marketing management: the marketing strategy level, and marketing operations. In addition, they discuss consulting in production management, financial and operational control, as well as consulting in human resource management.
