Summary

Introduction

The plagiarism issue is often discussed in the classrooms and public in relation to public officials and politicians. In 2018 alone, two government ministers in the Czech Republic were forced to resign due to plagiarism, making the creation of a new government after elections more complicated. Lecturers at the universities are dealing with plagiarism much more frequently than mentioned in the media. Because plagiarism is one of the critical issues of modern education, it might well be considered "a litmus paper" of the quality of education in the Czech Republic and in other countries. We can claim that students who went for the title with the fraud and often plagiarized will have some deficiencies in some parts of the curriculum, not mentioning a lack of moral principles and violation of ethical standards. This article deals with plagiarism in students' opinions in legal education at the Faculty of Law, Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. It is an important issue, especially for students within this faculty. Similar situations are not rare and can be observed in different countries, as Starovoytova (2017) demonstrated
