Introduction

J Res Dent Maxillofac Sci 2021;6(4):[23,24,25,26,27,28,29]Ethics includes the principles and val-Much progress has been made in dental ues that govern individual and collecresearch as well as cosmetic dentistry in the tive behavior under the title of right or20th century, which has brought the most imwrong,(1) and there is an innate tendency portant ethical problems in dentistry in the 21st towards ethical values in the nature of evecentury.(7) Since ethics has a special place in ry human being. Dentists and dental students realize that it is difficult to make decisions in critical situations and adhere to ethical principles, and that a general understanding of medical ethics does not meet their needs to deal with such problems. Kazemian et al(7) reported six important ethical issues in the field of dentistry as follows: inappropriate treatment procedures, not accepting liability for individual errors, overtreatment (or unnecessary treatment), inappropriate behavior with patients, non-professional discussion about another colleague’s work quality, and unfair behavior towards deprived patients.(7) In a study by Christie et al,(12) on freshman and senior dental students on professional ethics, there were significant differences in communication skills, problem-solving ability, and honesty in behavior of senior dental students, and their increased awareness compared with freshmen because of the received trainings.
