Abstract

Abstract In characterizing ethical business culture, a Model of Ethical Business Culture (MEBC) has been created through research conducted by the Center for Ethical Business Cultures. It is composed of five distinct elements: values driven, leadership effectiveness, stakeholder balance, process integrity, and long‐term perspective. The empirically derived model is based on the perspectives of business executives and academics of business ethics, who were asked what dimensions they believe frame an ethical business culture. It is not meant to be prescriptive. Each “ethical” organization is unique in how it expresses or constitutes the five elements.
