Abstract

Environmental contamination especially air pollution has aroused considerable interest around the world in recent years. Pollutant gases are usually related to energy production, industry and exhaust gases. In addition to the greenhouse gases, chemical gas released from other sources also negatively impacts the cleanliness of the air. Therefore, we need a remote monitoring of chemical gas releasing facilities that contribute to the environmental contamination. Hyperspectral imaging has emerged as an alternative technology to the classical sensor based gas detection methods. In this study, we propose a novel detection method for gases in hyperspectral images by searching for the gas signature only within a narrow interval where it is active.
