Abstract

Herein, a solvent additive of ethanol is added into lead iodide precursor solution for mesoporous perovskite solar cells (PSCs). This solvent additive method achieving improved charge injection and hole blocking merits. Also, a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 18.37% is obtained, a remarkable improvement in comparison that without ethanol additive. These enhancements are related to the better features of triple-cation perovskite as compared to untreated perovskite film, such as passivated grain boundaries, lower surface defects, higher crystallinity and mitigated electron–hole recombination processes.
