Abstract

In the context of increasingly frequent cooperation and exchanges at all levels between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, the country's and society's demand for Portuguese-speaking talents is increasing even more. The training of Portuguese talent meets the new historic opportunities, at the same time, faces a situation that requires reforms and innovation. Classroom teaching highlights the transition from “teaching” to “learning” and encourages teachers to design and carry out student-centered classroom teaching with the aim of helping students build their own knowledge system and improve their learning ability to meet the needs of future development and changes. In the implementation of teaching, we have shifted from emphasizing on improving teachers' teaching ability to focusing on cultivating students' learning ability. In this context, through interviews applied to Portuguese teachers in China, we analyzed the general situation of students of Portuguese in China, and we explored the application of the concept of “Student-Centered Learning” in Portuguese classes as foreign language. Thus, we will come up with suggestions to promote classroom efficiency and student skills in the PLE teaching process.
