Abstract
The presence of housing in high-risk areas in Brazil has become not only a geological concern but also a socio-economic challenge. The absence of effective housing policies has led many municipalities to face issues related to the occupation of hazardous zones, jeopardizing the lives of their residents. This study aims to assess geological risk conditions in four residences and the living conditions of the population residing in them. To achieve this goal, we classified the magnitude of the problem, the habitability of the dwellings, and identified potential solutions. Laboratory tests were conducted to determine soil density, relative humidity, and pH. The results revealed serious landslide issues, often associated with poor housing conditions.
