Estudio paleomagnético de las rocas tardihercinianas de la Cadena Costera Catalana: primeros resultados.

Abstract

Permian dykes and diorites from Lhe Catalan Coastal Range basement have been studied. ‘ihe magnetization offered by these rocks are sLable and primary in origin and is carnied by magnetite and titanomagnetite. The selecLed siLes are distributed on both sites of the Valles-Penedes graben. We have used tentatively the bedding of Lhe Miocene deposits infilling Lhis graben in order to correct Lhe Permian directions. After this exercise is done, the Permian inclinations clusLeramong them and close to the liLeraLure data. IL appears LhaL during the Neogene rifLing Lhe graben and its NW and SE sides have been tilted towards NW, as shown by the Miocene deposits from the Valles-Penedes graben.
