Abstract

Playing football can lead to muscle shortening, which may change a football player’s posture and possibly cause lesions.A comparative study was carried out using two groups, each consisting of 30 volunteers. One group consisted of 30 football players and the other was a control group.Posture assessment was carried out using the GlobalPostural Reeducation method (GPR). After comparing the data obtained, the most important difference wasobserved in the group of footballers. Excessive shortening of the posterior muscle chain was found in the lower extremity, especially in the hamstring muscle.
