A file is refilled for each subject that contains different variables seating posture: kind of seating posture, spine position, support of the feet on the floor, crossing leg and feet, rest on the seat, the use of the back, knees flexion, asymmetric support on the table, rotation of the trunk and the position of the neck. A statistical analysis facts is carried out comparing the seating posture that different ages children adopt in each one of the studied classes. ResultsSubjects studied are 68 who belong to 3.°, 4°, 5° or 6° primary classes, with ages among the 8 years and 7 months and the 12 years and 7 months, being the average 10,38 ±1,244years; the 48,5%are boys and the 51 girls. The seating posture which is adopted with the greater percentages is the following one: mean seating posture (54,4 %), bent spine (55,9 %), the plant of the foot support on the floor (50 %), crossed feet (55,8 %), support at the back of the seat (63,2 %), legs without crossing (92,6 %), without using the back (47,1 %)-correct use of the back (41,2 %), more than 90° flexion of knees (38,2 %), support both elbows on the table (55,9 %), non rotation of the trunk while they are writing (52,9 %) and neck spine flexion (42,6 %). ConclusionsSchool children studied do not adopt the correct seating position that many authors recommended.
