Abstract

AbstractAmong the number of research on relaxition techniques that we have reviewed (see references) we have hardly ever found comparisons between them. In our future profession, the type, pathology and characteristic of the patient and his/her rehabilitation process, are going to determine the right technique. For this reason, it seemed interesting to carry out an experimental study in which we could train the learning process and check the subsequest efficacy of relaxation techniques in people without apparent prior pathologies. The most commonly used techniques are:—Training in progresive muscular relaxation.—Training in imagination and breathing technique. Our second aim is to check possible individual differences or preferences among people morder to choose one or another technique, after mastering the three ones. Our last aim was to acquire habilities in order to apply them to future patiens.Once we have carried out the experimetal study with a sample of two groups of ten people each, we obtained two very important conclusions; firstly, learning of the second technique is much easier than that of the first one and secondly, the choice or a relaxation technique differs as a consequence from individual characteristics of characters
