Abstract
In the present study, the structure of the intellectual functions of a clinical population has been studied with the WISC-R, as routinely applied in a Children's Mental Health Unit. The latest 33 case- histories were chosen from each age group (6 to 15), and a principal component analysis carried out. Sex distribution was different at each age, but there were hardly any differences in subtest scores related to sex or age. The analysis of factors supported Kaufman's three factor solution; it also pointed to the existence of differences related to sex and/or psychopathology in the structure of intellectual functions.
