Abstract

This article presents some results of research titled “The urban space production in medium cities: A comparative analysis of recent real estate dynamics”. The aim is to indicate structural changes regarding the processes of production and consumption of urban space in Brazil cities, new action on urban land and real estate strategies of economic agents, new and more complex vectors of territorial expansion and a extension and complexity of socio-spatial inequalities. Inflection point in the historical trajectories of the real estate can be earned by the capital on the Stock Exchange of Sao Paulo / BR, with structural changes the forms of activity on the production of urban space. Among many of these changes highlights here the formation of urban land banks that are increasingly enlarge in terms of square meters, in a growing number of cities and located in non metropolitan urban realities, mainly on medium cities.
