Abstract

The text addresses the emergence of quilombola identity, which highlights elements that mark the feeling of belonging to the territory in the municipality of São Miguel do Guamá, state of Pará. I believe that this feeling triggers the process of construction of quilombola territoriality, which is somewhat based on the struggle for permanence on earth, on the work of swiddens and on relationships of kinship, neighborhood and religiosity. The process of construction of quilombola identity, replaced in the problem of the land, at work and in the family as a primary unit of production and reproduction.
