Abstract

This study proposes a transient multiphase pipe flow model to estimate the wellhead and bottomhole pressures of an offshore natural gas production well. The transient multiphase pipe flow model is designed for an offshore natural gas production system, in which both the wellhead and downhole pressure gauges have failed. The results demonstrate that the model can estimate the gas rate and flowing pressure at different operating conditions, with reasonable accuracy. Finally, the production forecast obtained from the decline curve analysis is applied to the model to estimate the flowing pressure profile in the future.
