Abstract
According to the results of exploration works carried out in Khyzy area, fresh water here is of Cretaceous complex. On the south-west territory from Tazakend area, the water is in the sandstones, pelitomorphic tuffogene limestones and clay (Kemchi suite). To the south-east from Thykhly village, fresh water occurs in the alternation of the sandstones and pelitomorphic clay, to the south from Dizavar village (in the axial region of Tygchay downfold) – in the alternation of sandstones, limestones, gritrock and clay (Aghburun suite). Additional research surveys on Khyzy territory are necessary for the estimation of underground water to increase its usage in water supply of inhabited localities.
