Abstract

Abstract The paper presents a method for real-time calculation of total transfer capability on the basis of a trade-off approach, witch gives optimal values of total transfer capability in all considered lines. To implement the trade-off approach we introduce a two-level structure to control the interconnected electric power systems, establish Control center receiving data from all power systems taking part in generation of a trade-off decision, perform state estimation and estimation of total transfer capability, and then work out a single rule for additional loading of controlled cutsets. An example of the calculation of total transfer capability in two cutsets under their simultaneous loading is presented.
