Abstract

Aiming at the problem of large error in so far as low SNR and limited number of snapshots in the actual techniques for evaluation the amount of signal sources, a method for evaluation the amount of signal sources ground on the hard threshold method is proposed. The method works by comparing the eigenvalues of the received signal covariance matrix with a hard threshold. And use the distance betwixt the compared eigenvalues and the eigenvalues of the ideal ideal data as the criterion, and the amount of sources identified is ground on the minimum distance criterion. The simulation consequences display that the approach can effectively guess at the amount of sources under the situation of low SNR and small snapshot number, and the estimation is consistent with the increase of SNR and snapshot number.
