Abstract

Stature estimation and gender determination is one of the prime tools for determining the identity in fragmented or mutilated remains. The present study aimed to assess the use of percutaneous tibial length in estimating stature and determining gender among a selected population in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The study concluded that stature estimation is highly accurate with the measurement of percutaneous tibial length, but gender determination showed poor results in the selected population.
