Abstract

Correct identification of sound source direction is a crucial matter. In this paper, we evaluate an estimation method for sound source direction based on statistical model using binaural signals recorded from a speaker as a sound source. Our experiments were conducted for two different conditions: variation in reverberation times and temperatures. The experiment results reveal a maximum correct rate of 98.6% for direction on the horizontal plane at intervals of 5°, and 100% for the horizontal and vertical planes at intervals of 30°.
