Abstract
The internal pressure approach reported earlier, interrelates the critical temperature T c, the sonic velocity C, the molar heat capacity C p and the density ρ to facilitate the computation of one of these parameters which is more difficult to determine experimentally. This paper discusses the variation in the sonic velocity computed for molten UO 2 over the range 3120 (T m) to 6000 K by employing different sets of data on C p and ρ as a function of temperature and also of different values of T c reported in the literature.
