Abstract
Fluctuations of the population abundance of the rose bitterling,Rhodeus ocellatus (Kner) in a small pond, Shimizu-ike (700 m2), Osaka Prefecture, Japan, were estimated by the Petersen method from 1973 to 1977. The number of fish fluctuated between 12,600 and 46,700 during that period.
