Abstract

The numerical simulation of possible strong tsunamis from model seismic sources with various localizations in the Black Sea with nonlinear shallow water equations was performed. The localization and the shape of the seismic sources were chosen taking into account the most active Black Sea seismic zones and the geological and geodynamic data of the region. The seismic source was considered in the kinematic keyboard model of the earthquake source with temporal and speed characteristics typical of the chosen scenario. The spectral analysis of wave characteristics for each scenario revealed the most dangerous areas of the Russian coast from a moderate or strong tsunamigenic earthquake.
