Abstract
Literature data were used to construct log p = f( T) phase diagrams for room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs): 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imides (EMImNTf 2 and BMImNTf 2). The triple point of EMImNTf 2 is between 9 × 10 − 19 atm and 8 × 10 − 18 atm and for BMImNTf 2 it is between 4 × 10 − 15 atm and 4 × 10 − 17 atm. The triple point temperature is close to their normal melting points. Estimated figures may serve as the first approximation of RTILs phase diagrams.
