Abstract

In this paper a simplified model is introduced in order to estimate the pressure torque from angular velocity measurement by a Kalman filter approach. It can be implemented on board of the vehicle. The proposed discrete state space model works with angular rather than time equidistant sampling. Signals from conventional angular speed sensors of available motor management systems are used without additional hardware components. Errors introduced by the digital computation of angular speed and mechanical imperfections of the target wheel are also modelled and taken into account.
