Abstract

We propose a statistical analysis method to estimate the progress of the hydrogen embrittlement process by obtaining the transition probability λi that represents the average transition rate of the hydrogen embrittlement state. The estimation results are verified by Monte Carlo simulation. As an application of the proposed method, we evaluate the temperature dependence of the hydrogen embrittlement process and find that the threshold of the fracture decreases as temperature decreases. We also suggest that the rate-limiting process of the hydrogen embrittlement can be estimated by evaluating the apparent activation energy Ea of the state transition using the proposed method.
