Abstract

The purpose of the research was to study infection of high oleic lines of winter rapeseed by Phoma rot comparing with samples with standard oleic acid content in oil of seeds. We established the high oleic lines of winter rapeseed in all years of the research appeared to be resistant to Phoma rot in a form of stem canker with a level of infection of 1–2 points compared to the samples with standard oleic acid content in oil of seeds. The amount of the resistant high oleic lines was 96–100%, of the samples with the standard oleic acid content – 9–12%. Possibly, the reason of lower infection of the high oleic lines by Phoma rot is the presence of gens of resistance in a parent material that was obtained by a crossing the French line MLCP 50, and the variety Dragon, which were characterized with low and weak disease infection. These researches are a part of a multi-year breeding work conducted in V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Сrops on the development of new productive winter rapeseed varieties with the improved fatty-acid composition of oil. In 2019, a high oleic variety of winter rapeseed Olivin was submitted to the State Commission on variety trial. It is characterized with oil content in seeds equal to the earlier developed varieties, and oleic acid content in oil of seeds is 79.7%. A level of infection of the variety Olivin with Phoma rot is not more than two points, i.е. prevalence and disease development do not exceed 20.0%.
