Abstract

Two new independent methods of estimating the effective activities of rat liver mitochondrial choline dehydrogenase and betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase are presented. The results obtained with these two methods are compared with those of an indirect method (6) previously used. All three assay procedures yield results which agree with one another within a few per cent. Advantages and disadvantages of each assay procedure are presented.
