Abstract

The estimation of the transmembrane potential (TMP) on the epicardium and endocardium from simulated and measured magnetic heart field data using the Tikhonov’s regularization approach is investigated including an inhomogeneous boundary-element (BE) thorax model. For the generation of synthetic normal and pathological magnetic field data a model of the entire human heart is applied. The model is positioned inside the subject’s thorax. Additionally from this normal subject the magnetic field data were collected by two Magnes® 37 Channel gradiometer probes on the anterior and posterior side of the thorax. Synthetic magnetic field data for the normal case, for an anteroseptal acute phase of infarction and for a Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) Syndrome are simulated on the same sensor positions.
