Abstract

the annual energy estimation of a roof mount Photovoltaic system with three different PV modules; Polycrystalline silicon, monocrystalline silicon and thin film CIS is studied in this paper under real weather conditions using an established model of the PV module. Basing on the achieved results, thin-film PV system presented the best performance, however all the proposed PV systems showed a good performance and their annual energy benefit is positive regarding the annual energy demand of the house. This study evaluates and compares the annual estimated energy using crystalline silicon and thin-film PV modules which leads to understanding the feasibility of this system for the selected location.
