Abstract

An algorithm for a three dimensional unsteady non-linear inverse problem has been developed using the coupled iterative regularization and conjugate gradient methods to estimate heat flux from surface temperature measurements. The iterative regularization method was used to stabilize the solutions. The conjugate gradient is used to minimize the residual functional. The efficiency of the procedure is shown using numerical simulations with and without noisy temperatures obtained at the active surface. Finally, a numerical comparison between Function specification method and iterative regularization method is initiated.
