Abstract

Introduction: The ability to estimate physiological status from a wearable monitor would allow real-time assessment of Warfighter status that could improve safety and performance. The performance of two algorithms was tested based on field data from U.S. Marines: (1) the Physiological Strain Index (PSI) that was computed in real-time to measure thermal-work strain; (2) an algorithm for estimating physical fatigue.
