Abstract

A method based on non-stationary state-space modelling is presented for the dynamical evaluation of systematic oscillations occurring in heart rate (HR) signals. The state-space modelling is performed by making use of higher-order cumulants of HR in order to suppress coloured and white Gaussian components, possibly present in the input signal.
