For stable, spherical models, King's formula can overestimate the central density by at least 50 percent. For nonspherical models, the error can be 150 percent or more. In all cases, the sensitivity of the core-fitting formula to anisotropy can be reduced somewhat if velocity dispersions are averaged over the inner one or two core radii.
