Abstract
Gas chromatography with ECD detection was used to determine the adrenal levels of DDT and its metabolites DDD and DDE. Adrenal concentrations of progesterone, cortisol and corticosterone were measured by the RIA radioimmunological method. Adrenal tissue samples were taken from 60 subjects during post‐mortem examination. The results were interpreted statistically. Statistical significance was determined by Student's t‐test at p = 0.05, and the correlation coefficients were calculated numerically.
