Abstract

Breaking of rho-A/sub 2/ exchange degeneracy is estimated by means of simultaneous analyses of Fermilab (dsigma/dt)/sub 0//sup CEX/ data for ..pi../sup -/p ..-->.. ..pi../sup 0/n and ..pi../sup -/p ..-->.. eta/sup 0/n (eta/sup 0/ ..-->.. 2..gamma..). The result, i.e., epsilon (equivalent..cap alpha../sub A/2/..cap alpha../sub rho/ = (..beta../sub K/p/sup A/2/ B/sup rho//sub K/p)/sup 1/2/) = 0.820 +- 0.005 which is obtained from these analyses is used to make further estimate of (dsigma/dt)/sub 0//sup CEX/ for K/sup -/p ..-->.. K-bar/sup 0/n and K/sup +/n ..-->.. K/sup 0/p at p/sub lab/ = 10 to 1000 GeV/c. In the test of kaon-nucleon total-cross-section differences, the agreement between theory and experiment for various kinds of quantities is found to be excellent, especially at p/sub lab/ = 100 GeV/c. This suggests that recent Fermilab data for hadron-hadron interactions can be successfully interpreted with normal Regge-pole theroy.
