Abstract

This research aims for two achievements; the creation of some tool for the measurement of the domestic violence that teenage girls tolerate and the study of the efficacy of ratings of this instrument. Therefore, we have started from all dimensions that conform the concept of domestic violence: physical, psychological, social and sexual violence. On the other hand, in order to calculate the efficiency of the ratings, we have employed Aiken’s V content validity coefficient, Lawshe’s validity content ratio and Osterlind’s item-objective congruence index. The results let us conclude that such coefficients are suitable to determine this kind of validity, for it offers values which are able to be statistically matched depending on the size of the sample of selected judges. It has also been designed a 21 item instrument with very good content validity values in order to measure the degree of domestic violence tolerated by teenagers.
