Abstract
Esthetics plays a prime role when it comes to management of anterior region. In most of the advanced peridontitis cases, periodontal management alone cannot restore the esthetics of the patient. Hence a multi-disciplinary approach is needed and is of prime importance if the patient has a high smile line. Gingival replacement is a part of comprehensive prosthetic care. Various materials like composite, acrylic, silicones and porcelain can be used to replace the lost gingival tissue. Retention can be achieved by using the undercuts or with the use of attachments. The present case report deals with the management of unesthetic smile due to loss of gingival tissue by using a removable acrylic gingival prosthesis.
